While visiting Guatapé in Colombia on a day trip from Medellin, as well as enjoying the amazing views from La Piedra, we also enjoyed a spot of bird watching. These impressive birds were circulating La Piedra the whole time we were climbing up the 659 steps to the top. In parts of Colombia – we particularly noticed them in Cartagena and in Barichara near San Gil – some of the door knockers in the central part of town are really quite elaborate. Pretty streets of Paraty From Rio de Janeiro, it was with some slight regret that we skipped Ilha Grande and headed straight to Paraty.
